- 24 pages, a first pass in about three hours
- Census firm counts for your search bands, with the arithmetic shown
- A confidence mark on every figure: verified, single source, or unverified
- A twelve-row inventory of what carries over, what gets rescaled, and what to drop
- The one-sentence offer, with a fill-in structure and three worked examples
- Three engagement shapes with published rates, and why the low end isn't your rate
- A 23-column tracking sheet spec, a worked row, and two outreach templates
- Three enterprise accomplishments rewritten in founder language
What this is
This pack is for an experienced CFO, finance chief or senior finance executive who’s considering fractional work, or has left and hasn’t landed a client yet.
Its job is narrow. It turns the seat you held into an offer a founder can buy: which judgment carries over, what shape the work takes, who buys it, and how to state your proof in a founder’s terms.
Why it is built the way it is
Same sourcing standard as the rest of The Working Set. Every market figure carries a mark beside it on the page: verified, single source, or unverified. Where no credible source exists, the gap is stated and the number left out.
There’s no fractional-CFO adoption rate in here, because no authoritative one exists. The published rates run from accounting-firm entry tiers to mid-market retainers, and the pack says which end applies to an individual practitioner. Where a source doesn’t disclose its sample, the page says so.
What it does not do
It doesn’t build your offer, set your price, or tell you whether a prospect fits. It won’t settle a tax position, an accounting treatment or a financing question.
It’s decision support. Not legal, tax, accounting, securities or investment advice.
Who should not buy it
If you haven’t decided whether to go fractional, or whether CFO is the seat to lead with, start with The Fractional Decision Pack. This one assumes that choice is made.
Who it's for
Experienced CFOs, finance chiefs and senior finance executives considering fractional work, or who have left a corporate role and have not landed a client yet.
